Too early for what?

A, on April 13, 2020 at 7:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
With all that’s going on, I have a lot of time to wedding plan right now even though I have several months until my wedding in October. My FW thinks I’m doing things way too early though, so I wanted to know what y’all think.
We already sent out our invites/save the dates because there are only 30 people invited so we don’t mind calling up anyone who hasn’t RSVPed by September.
I wanted to work on the ceremony (our officiant is my best friend), the menu (we are cooking it ourselves), and the music (a Spotify playlist). Is it too early to do these things? Is there anything else that might be nice to get done early?

It was probably a little early to send invitations but if it's that small it shouldn't be a big deal, typically you send the saved dates early and invitations 8 weeks out. Personally I would do everything as early as I could less stress that way. Check on your marriage license everywhere is different I know Pennsylvania has a short window of getting it. I would have what I'm wearing any accessories and decorations all done as well

Besides the invites (understand your reasoning though!), I don't think any of that is too early. I did most of my planning 6-9 months before the wedding. The main things I have left to do now are ceremony and picking music, but that's because I just wasn't looking forward to those things haha. Other things to get done if you haven't already - picking out decor (guestbook, flower girl baskets, cake topper, etc)/centerpieces, ordering rings, bridesmaids/groomsman gifts if you're having a bridal party, shoes/jewelry/accessories.

We are date twins and I don’t think it’s early at all (especially now, with everything being closed). We were done with the planning details and booking all vendors by January and sent STD’s that month. We have our attire, decor, recently received sample invitations and now we get to relax during the next 6 months. So I believe that it’s better to complete planning early rather than waiting, stressing and scrambling in the last few months.

We’ve got our dresses, though hers still needs to be altered. We’ve got our jewelry, and I have my shoes but she hasn’t been able to find any yet and she’ll only shop in person.
Decor planning is on my list! I just can’t really decide. We’re going with minimal decor because it’s outside and really beautiful already, but I want to at least have some centerpieces
