Too Early for Engagement Photos?

Hi all my beautiful bride to bes!!
My fiancé and I just got engaged in early December. I am in graduate school, so he is the only one working full time (I work part time). In order to give us some time to save, we are planning on a 2022 wedding
However, we have been excited to plan so we went to a wedding expo this past weekend to get some ideas, and we ended up winning an engagement photo shoot in the process! The photographer said we aren't in a rush to get it done, but I don't know how long he will let us sit on it, so I guess my questions is- how long before your wedding should you get engagement photos done? Is it too early if we are over a year out when we do?

I agree with PP! Also be aware that the free engagement shoots from wedding expos often have a hefty cost on getting the actual photos/files. I would check the terms and conditions just to be sure!

You can do them whenever! And the beauty of a longer engagement is you get to dictate which season you'd like to do them in too

Any time you like! We got ours done when our wedding was over a year away. It's a free shoot so I would just have fun and do it.

We did ours 11 months out just because I liked the weather at that time. You can really do it whenever you want.

Engagement photos are taken to mark the new milestone! You should take them. You might look a little different in two years and then you could take them again.
