Tomboy Flower Girl

Jill, on January 24, 2015 at 1:47 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

So! My flower girl is the daughter of two of our good friends, and we love her to death. I just can't see her being comfortable in a dress. Plus, I have a hard time justifying the cost of one, if she won't ever wear it again. So then I was thinking it would be cute to have her wearing a tunic with leggings and sneakers. (Much more her!) But I have found children's clothing to be a strange world that I'm just not sure where to find tunics that don't have Disney or other brands plastered on them.

My colors are TARDIS Blue (think royal/navy blue ish), dark purple, and yellow. My bridesmaids are wearing blue and purple. Here's the one in Purple -- http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/coach-tour-dress-in-violet.

Any ideas on where to find a tunic long enough to be a "dress" or maybe just a casual dress that would work with the bridesmaids? She is almost 8. Thanks for the help in advance!

What about a cool blazer with skinny pants? This is the first one I came up with, but I'm sure you could find a few more:

Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. It'll be outside of Las Vegas in March, so I was thinking of avoiding coats and anything that might begin the process of overheating. Smiley winking but what about a cute blouse with skinny jeans? Would that look okay?

Yeah, I jackets probably a bad idea in Vegas. I think a blouse would be fine, though. Maybe just take her shopping?

Yup, I'm going to talk to our friends this week, and figure out the details. I'm glad there are options out there for flower girls without wearing a big poofy dress! Thank you for your advice Smiley smile

Olive Juice might have some tunics. I found my daughter's FG dress on clearance for $15 on kohls.com. I've also seen cute ones on Etsy for less than $35.

Do they still have limited too? Justice is a nice place too.

Your colors are Tardis blue as in Doctor Who?? What if you had her wear the tardis dress with leggings? They sell it at Hot Topic!

I've never looked for kids clothes, but I will check kohls again for dresses (but actually going to the store). Is Olive Juice a website? I'm going to have to do some googling!

@Hannah I never thought of that! I will have to see if they come in kids sizes! We don't have a hot topic here, but I'll check their site.

    Thanks ladies!
