Toasts

I don't think it's strange at all! My fiance and I will probably have totally different beverages from each other for toasts.

We are skipping the champagne toast! Just doing a small speech and possibly my parents giving a toast but with everyone’s drinks they will already have! It’s a waste since not everyone wants champagne when they already have a drink. We will be serving champagne at the reception as well as wine!

Countless people do not like champagne so most of the time it goes to waste. Let guests toast with whatever they are already drinking.

Not at all. We didn’t do a champagne toast and just used our favorite drinks to toast.

These days couples/guests have typically been toasting with whatever they have in their hand at that tine. So it totally works! Champagne is not mandatory simply to give a toast.

Not at all! My FH and I are actually like you guys! He likes beer and I like wine. So, we definitely are going to be toasting to different drinks. I feel like it makes it more you if you toast according to your preference. Champagne is just to make it fancy lol.

Same as PP! Drink with what you want. Have the DJ/MC announce that you guys are getting ready for toasts and for them to make sure they've got a drink. Doesn't have to be champagne.

I recommend skipping the champagne with cake if you're having that. It's one reason a lot of people don't like champagne. It's a dry wine and not meant to be paired with something sweet

Not at all! Toast with what you want. Our venue provides champagne and sparkling cider for our toast, but we're definitely okay with people toasting with what's in their glass/bottle/can if they prefer. The venue doesn't allow liquor (so just beer and wine for reception), but they've made an exception for FH and I so we can drink and toast with whiskey. We'll be toasting with the same thing as each other, but a very different thing from what the guests will be toasting with.

I don't drink at all. I toasted with apple juice.

No one will notice or care.

Not even a little. We just toasted with whatever we were drinking.
