To Spring or Not To Spring- That Is The Question!

Michelle, on March 23, 2021 at 7:26 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 48
There are so many options when planning your wedding. Colors, style, themes etc. My fiancé is a firefighter & during the summer he’s gone a lot. Figuring out the date/season wasn’t too difficult. Definitely not summer as I don’t want to spend my anniversary alone. We’re not fans of winter so we chose spring & fell in love with our 4/3/21 date! However, not a fan of pastels & a must was fire colors. These are my inspiration pics!
HUGE question- what was your inspiration for your wedding? Are you sticking to the colors of the season you chose or something totally opposite? To Spring or Not To Spring- That Is The Question! 1

We’re not a huge fan of the summer color palette (we prefer fall) but wanted to keep our current anniversary which is right in the middle of of the summer. We went with our favorite colors and don’t particularly care about “the normal palettes of the season”. I think its perfectly fine to do whatever colors you like regardless of season!

I am not choosing from the color of the seasons. I am sticking with stuff I like and would match with the rest of the decoration. My wedding will be in Oct/22, close to my birthday and that made very special. I am definitely going more towards burgundy, blush, white and gold. I think you would be fine with red / firefighter colors, because that means a lot to you guys. You got that girl! Good luck and Congratulations!

We ended up with a summer wedding - a family member’s wedding was postponed last year, they booked their date the week before our preferred date, so we had to take a later, open week, now the fam members wedding is off 😬 - but we still have our summer date. I also don’t like pastels that much so our attire accent color is navy blue, which will end up leaning more classic/cool weather than I wanted. We are relying primarily on florals and stationary for a more muted citrus/brighter-than-pastel color palette. I just want it to come off as a happy, romantic summer wedding ☀️😅

Totally agree! When I told his mother what the colors are she said “but those are winter colors...”
Just responded with “no, those are our colors!”

Beachy-tropical theme/colors. We are getting married in February which is dead winter in Alaska but where we are getting married (FL) it is going to be our summer weather.

We got married in the summer and our colors were fire engine red and black with blush and silver as accent colors. Fire engine red and black are the colors of my husband's favorite hockey team so the colors were something he really wanted. I also really liked red and black because I always envisioned red roses with black tablecloths for my reception so it worked out perfectly that we agreed on colors.

I think your scheme is perfect! We are getting married in the fall and didn’t choose fall colors - we are doing Tiffany blue, peacock teal & gold.

As a summer wedding person who chose dark reds, purples, and blues... I've never been one to pick colors because of the season!

I've mentioned before that the red/blue was because of our favorite team, blue is also DH's favorite color, and I'm purple-obsessed. It's just lucky that red + blue = purple.

I guess I don't quite get why you can't just pick your favorite colors, and that the season is supposed to influence what your linens are!

Beautiful Michelle!!! I’m glad you stayed with your vision and wasn’t influenced by others 👍 I don’t think matching the season is needed at all - colors that reflect personal style or about the couple is exactly what it should be!!
We chose a coastal theme because we both love the beach and water is a theme in our relationship. There were comments from an individual that I should have blue and white because that’s what is coastal, but I had other ideas 😉
For us, I chose peach, white and sandy tan. I realize peach is not popular and if you have ever seen the movie “Monster In Law” they make fun of the color peach 😂
I’m glad I kept the colors (had a moment of doubt on what others may think) but truly thrilled with the results! Here are a few of my early inspiration pics ❤️❤️❤️To Spring or Not To Spring- That Is The Question! 4

We're getting married in the Fall but we're definitely not doing fall colors. Although I do love them, our colors are navy blue, ivory, champagne and gold. I knew I wanted sequin so gold or rose gold was a give-in and FH picked the navy blue. I'm excited to see how its going to turn out!

I'm matching the season we are getting married in, but only because I honestly love the deep colors of fall! We are doing burgundy and blush, my FH and his guys in black suits. Honestly, I'd probably pick something similar if we got married during another time of year as well! The other colors we considered were gray and black, but one of my FH's sisters did gray and black and we wanted to be different from that, so that's why we chose a different color palette.

Our wedding was supposed to be in September and I originally had a more moody color palette with pops of burgundy. I wasn't super tied to it though, so when we postponed to this May I changed things up a bit to be a little more light and airy. Here's an idea of what I'm doing:
