To shuttle or not to shuttle?

Molly, on January 19, 2021 at 2:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Help! I am getting married on family land in a rural area about 30 minutes from town. There is room for parking but I worry about guests drinking and muddy jams if it rains! What do you think?

It's completely up to you. Did you get an estimate on shuttle prices?

Shuttles are always appreciated by guests, so it wouldn't hurt to call and get quotes on them!

I would suggest getting more than one or two depending on how many guests you have. Mainly because your venue is 30 min from town, and if shuttles have to take multiple trips, that's an hour to go there and back. So you might have guests that get tired of waiting.

Another thing to think about is where your guests will park their cars, and where they will get picked up for the shuttles to get to your wedding venue. Will there be free parking in town for guests that choose to use the shuttle?

Hi Molly! Just food for thought, hopefully by your wedding covid is under control or eliminated (God willing!) but if covid restrictions are still in place at that time, not sure if guests will crowd in together on a shuttle. Outside of covid, totally great idea and worth exploring. Don’t mean to be a party pooper but just thought I would throw it out there. All the best ❤️❤️❤️

Our venue is the same way- I had orginally said we wouldn't do a shuttle (I am from suburbs in Ohio) and my FH and family is from Chicago so they are not use to driving on roads without street lights. We've decided to opt for one since we are having an open bar and uber/taxi isn't easily accesible because of the venue's rural location. We found a company that uses school buses that will do 2 buses for about $1,000 with multiple stops and departure times, which was the cheapest option.
