My FH just picked up his suit from the tailor and he is DYING to show me. I've been refusing every time, but he claims that "not seeing the groom's suit isn't a thing," and it's only tradition to avoid seeing the bride's dress. Note: he has dutifully made a point NOT to see my dress, even backing into a coat rack with his eyes shut because he accidentally walked in on me zipping it back into the garment bag. But when it comes to his suit, he's like "LOOK AT IT!"
He isn't exactly well versed in wedding etiquette or traditions, so I took his comment with a big fat grain of salt, but it got me thinking… is he right? Are all of the other brides checking out their groom's outfits before the wedding? Either way, I'm going to keep refusing his offers to look, but I'm curious to know what others are doing.
