To Have or Have Not

Mia, on March 23, 2020 at 10:27 AM Posted in Community Conversations 1 9
Hello there to all the brides getting married this June 20, 2020. I'm just disappointed because with all the social separation, with Covid19 we may have to cancel our wedding with all the travel restrictions. What do you think, should we go ahead with our plans? Or ask for a refund from our vendors, plan another date? I'm so upset and now depressed, any insight welcomed? Thanks all, and congrats to you all.

Our wedding was June 20, 2020. After a lot of thought we decided to move all our vendors to the next year and move the wedding the June 19, 2021. I live in San Francisco and we had a lot of guests flying in for the trip. Honestly, our guests are all relieved to not have to make the decision whether or not to come to the wedding and risk exposure. I know this was the right choice for us. Sending you all much strength as we navigate this challenging time in our lives and our world.

Hint: Don’t cancel your venders. Call them and ask if they can move your contract to a future date. Every one of our venders (all 10) and the venue was happy to accommodate the change. They are all struggling and knowing that we plan to continue was also good for them despite the enormous burden the pandemic.

To not loose MONEY Mia I would email venue And all vendors and ask for a list of available dates they have like from. August onward .....
Then look for the compatibility to finalize your new date.
I highly doubt you will be refunded if cancel. Read your contracts !

    Hi Mia,

Our original date was June 7th, 2020. We postponed it to next year. We are in California where everyone is sheltering in place. Fortunately, our venue and 4 out of 5 of our vendors let us move things at no additional cost (still waiting for a response on the last vendor)! I would contact the venue and vendors to ask what your options are. It also helps to communicate your concerns to them. Luckily, you still have time to make a decision, but knowing your options first might put your mind at ease.
