To buy online? or not to buy online?

I have a very strict budget for my wedding (October 5,2018!) and i'm trying everything I can to get stuff for cheap or free! So I have found a few websites that sell extremely cheap wedding dresses (some of the dresses are $200!) like promnova.com, amazon.com, and hebeos.com. I plan on going to a store and trying on similar dresses to see if they look good on me then ordering them from one of the websites I have found. Has anyone ordered from these websites? was it a good experience and can you prove that with pictures? Or is there something else that I can do to save on my dress? I'm not looking for anything high quality as long as the dress looks good and can stay on my body for a few hours I don't care after that. Thank you!

My FSIL was in a wedding where the bride went to try on dresses and took however many hours of the salesperson's time and then after she had pictures of herself in what she wanted, she said she'd have someone make it and left, costing the salesperson commission and wasting their time. My FSIL said the bridesmaids were mortified bc they didn't even know that was her plan. So don't do that lol. I found my dress online and liked it so much I wanted to just buy it, but I went the next day and tried it on and then bought from the store.

I ordered my dress from JJ's house and it was EXACTLY what I wanted. The key is to send them your custom measurements rather than what they already have available. It's like $20 more but it was worth it to have my dress fit like I wanted it to.

I would definitely go to Davids Bridal before ever buying online. You want this to fit you perfectly, it's still your wedding day nonetheless. If your budget is around $200 you can definitely find a pretty dress there in that range.

I think it would be safer to try David's Bridal.

You may also want to check out Lulu's. they have some really pretty white dresses for under $100. Everyone that I know that has ever purchased from them has been very happy. I actually looked to get my MOH's dress from them.

Also, have you checked any consignment stores in your area? I know some of the nicer ones in my area carry wedding dresses!

I would try consignment shops or resell wedding dress websites. I wouldn’t risk not being able to try on my dress though. David’s has very affordable dresses

I wouldn't. As tempting as it is, I've heard too many horror stories of waiting for months for the dress to be delivered, only to have it go straight in the trash because it's awful. Then you'll be out the time and money and probably have to spend more to get something quick. I like the idea of getting a bridesmaid or prom dress in white/ivory!

ASOS has a range of wedding dresses at reasonable prices. Can't say I've bought one, but I buy probably half my wardrobe off there and they're good quality with good return policies.

Secondhand is also a good option, or looking into bridesmaids dresses as PPs have suggested. If you buy online, make sure you research them thoroughly first. Be clear on what the delivery dates are and what the returns process is.

I would support PPs suggestions of www.preownedweddingdresses.com. I got my dress from there for half the cost. It was a designer sample dress sold from a local bridal store.

Maybe you should try Etsy, I’ve seen some cheap wedding dresses on there.

Second looking for long white dresses on a more reputable site like Lulus, ASOS, Modcloth, or Macys. Check return policies before you buy and if it doesn't fit you can always send it back and order something else!

No. Poor quality and setting yourself up for disappointment and wasted money. Etsy is reliable. You can also try vintage or second hand shops, prom dresses, local depsrtment stores.

For something on the less expensive side, try Etsy. There are seamstresses who make custom gowns for very reasonable prices.
