To bustle or not?

Sara, on June 16, 2021 at 2:17 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

What are you ladies with trains planning on doing for your first dance? My seamstress recommended leaving the train out for our first dance, but I feel like it'll be hard to move with it not bustled. We aren't planning any fancy dance moves by any means, but I'm having a tough time deciding what to do! For reference, this is my dress and it's train.

You could always put it on and do a practice dance with it on and the train down to kind of figure out how you feel about it! If you don't like it, then bustle it!

The train is beautiful, and I agree that it would look amazing in first dance photos, but it could get in the way if you decide to do any turns or anything extra!

You can do a wrist or finger loop bustle for your type of dress.

Personally, I was bustled before our first dance. I didn't want to take the chance on stepping on my train (I'm a klutz, the dress was strapless, I foresaw a wardrobe malfunction lol). If you want to leave it out for your first dance, then make sure you dance in the dress before the wedding, so you can make sure you aren't stepping on it.

I was fully bustled before the reception…ducked out of cocktail hour to do it then had our entrance. Another advantage to doing it early besides just ease of dancing was that then I didn’t have to leave the reception to do it in the middle of the party !

Also looking specifically at your specific train (it is stunning!!) the design is very wide. I feel like if you’re moving at all with it on the ground it will bunch up, so I don’t think it would lend itself to first dance photos unless you have 2 people trailing you to pull it out at every turn.

Also I bet that lace detail on the end of the train will turn into a stunning bustle , so it might be nice to have it bustled for the dance just to get pics of it— I think it may have some serious wow-factor !

Thank you ladies! My seamstress has already added the bustle and he did an AMAZING job keeping the lace in detail. You guys have made my opinion of bustling it for the dance feel a lot better!
