To belt or not to belt??

Carol, on May 29, 2018 at 9:27 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21
I feel like I’m making a million posts about my wedding outfit so I’m so sorry if you’re a regular and see my face way too much! 😂

my quesion is- should I wear a belt with this dress? I’m back and forth. I’m not a clingy person, I’m rather minimalistic when it comes to attire, I’m only wearing a veil and earrings. And I know my FH doesn’t love the look of belts (cons of watching say yes to the dress with him!) however I know he will really care less on the day of. But here are the reasons I’m back and forth:

pros: more defined waist that alterations can’t give me, a little ‘extra’- more bridal perhaps?

cons: FH expressed that he doesn’t love them, extra money, worries of the dress looking ‘too plain’

I know I shouldn’t worry about what FH thinks but hey I love him and I want to impress him on our wedding day! But I also am concerned that my outfit doesn’t look ‘complete’ without it!

What do you ladies think? Belt or no belt? If I should wear a belt what style?

Attached i I have pictures my pure ivory dress as it came in, and a picture of when I first tried it on, with a belt!

I say no belt...if you want to add a little sparkle use your accessories and/or add some swarovski rhinestones to the dreds, just here and there in the flowers to catch the light..or sew sequins. But I like this dress without the belt...it is so pretty.

I don't think the belt makes you feel more "bridal", but I think it looks pretty plain. I'm usually a more minimalist st lye as well.

Beautiful dress! It a depends on how you feel about it, personally I would skip out on the belt because of the elegant lace and style of the dress and bling out with my accessories/shoes. Good luck! 🙂

I think it looks great either way but I say no belt, there is so many beautiful details in the dress already it doesn't need it!

I Personally like the belt! I don’t think your dress is plain at all but it just adds a little extra oomph! You don’t have to spend a lot on a belt either hey have cute ones on amazon

I think either looks are lovely. I don't immediately think you must have a belt. Do what makes you happy. And trust me, you look plenty bridal!

If I were having the type of wedding this dress called for, I'd totally add the bling of the belt. But I also think it looms lovely without it.

I say skip, the dress is beautiful without it. It also takes a bit away from the lace.

I love your dress - It's beautiful without one... I would say no belt.

(I about fell over when I saw the cost of some belts at the bridal stores)

First of all the gown is beautiful!! It doesn't need the belt in my opinion!! I think the belt takes away from the rest of the beauty of the gown and your glowing face!! Your FH will love whatever way you will have it!! You are a Beautiful bride!!

I think the belt looks gorgeous with the dress, but I don't think the dress looks too plain without it! the belt adds a little more, but I honestly love the simplicity without the belt. No belt!

I think the belt looks nice, but I honestly like the look of your dress better without the belt. I feel like the belt cuts off the lace pattern and it doesn't seem to flow as well. You look beautiful in the dress!

I love the belt they added! I I would definitely say yes to the belt if it were me. It accentuates your waist and gives the dress more flair.

I love the belt actually. Gives it the bling factor.
