To b or Not To b

Maggie, on January 6, 2020 at 12:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 3
About my B listers! My FH and I planned on doing an A list and a B lost for invitations as our budget couldn’t hold as many as we would have liked. Some B listers have moved to the B lost as some A listers dropped for one reason or another. Our hope is to have about 90-95 people. Our invite (incl ourselves) is 110 with at least 10 not coming (some are out of the country, others are just far away and have time and budget constraints) my question is: do we even bother inviting those last few B listers or keep them off and keep the wedding small if more than those 10 say no?

Depends on what would make you the happiest. Its your wedding day, so if you want a bigger wedding, invite more guests. If you want something smaller, dont invite those ten. It might seem like duh, but im just saying think about it in those simple terms, rather than worrying too much about how other people would want it on your day.
The A and B list is a really good idea btw, so that me and my FH can agree on whos a priority.

I would not bother inviting the last few people. If you've already invited more people than you'd like to have, that will be safer. I'm inviting 80 people and there's a good chance that 10-15 of them won't be there but it doesn't bother me having fewer guests.

It's typically pretty obvious when someone is a "B list" guest, and many people would be hurt by this. That's why it's generally frowned on to have a B list. Invite the number of people you can afford and will fit comfortably in your venue and then stop.
