To arch or not to arch?

Shelby, on July 16, 2019 at 12:01 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6
I’m having a gothic/Halloween themed wedding this October and I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out what kind of arch would complement my decorations during the ceremony. For the aisleway, i’m having lanterns on hooks with candles in them every other row, and every row without a lantern will have a tall bundle of curly willow branches. I’m also having my flower girls scatter black flower petals as I walk down. My venue offers a “candle wall” which my fiancé and I both LOVE and would like to use, but would an arch then be too busy? I was thinking an arch primarily made of branches with minimal greenery and flowers would look nice, and since it’s not solid, you’d be able to see the candlelight through the branches. I’m attaching the only picture of the candle wall at the venue here and I have circled it in yellow. TIA!

I love the candle wall! I don’t think you need an arch, but I agree that one made of branches wouldn’t obscure the candles as much. Maybe something like this, but without the flowers (or use dark flowers rather than white).

I love the look of this venue (and everything you’re describing) without the idea of adding the arch. Seems too busy & distracting.

I would do no arch since there's a lot going on already

I would also stay away from the arch. Keep all the attention on that sick candle wall!

Oh I'm in love with your theme. I do like the candle wall alone, but if you want the arch the idea of using branches instead of flowers is nice
