Tips on bug proofing tent?

Si, on June 29, 2018 at 5:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
Our tent is in a field. Looking for tried and true methods of reducing bugs? I was thinking of spraying walls and table cloths with bug spray- but I'm not sure if that's either effective or damaging to material. Would the house 'bombs' work, lol? Do those tiki torches do anything?

Have the whole yard sprayed the day before or the morning of the wedding.

Put out some electronic bug killers. They have ones that are effective up to 1 acre. Surround the tent with 3 or 4 of these to create an electronic barrier.

You can take a more natural approach to pest control by adding plants to your yard,or floral arrangements that mosquitoes loathe. Citronella, catnip, rosemary and marigolds have all been shown to drive away mosquitoes.

There are apps for phones that use an ultrasonic sound that repels insects. It does work on dogs and cats too though, so you will want to make other arrangements for them.

Goodness don't use a spray inside a tent, especially on the table cloths. Those sprays are toxic and you don't want to put a plate, utensils, napkins or much of anything else down on a table that has been sprayed. Muriel has several good tips to try instead.

There are some bug repellent washes made for clothing and such, but they are pretty expensive. FH had to wash his clothes in it before studying abroad in Guatemala a few years back. It wasn't this exact one but something similar

I agree. The citronella torches work best when they create a perimeter of smoke encircling your party area. Just be careful while placing them. A very elegant approach to insect repellent is to place little cans of bug spray in the powder rooms, or even in a basket where your guests will see it as they arrive. Consulting Roseville pest control is also one of the best ways to deal with the pests problem as they have enough knowledge and experience to deal with such problems.
