You do not tip anyone the day of because you are not in the objective frame of mind to assess their performance. Wait until after the honeymoon. Only tip those who went above and the call of duty. Do not tip for bad service, no shows or simply doing their job. Most vendors and their employees are salaried.

Tip only those with stellar service. Some say $100 while others say 20%, but stay within your budget of what you can reasonably spend.

I would recommend tipping the day of in cash. I tipped our photographer $100, DOC $400 (this was split amongst a couple people) and officiant I think $50.

The only people I'll be tipping day of will be the caterers because I want to make sure it gets to the specific individuals who served at my wedding. Everyone else I will be sending a thank you note with a check tip (based on performance) after the wedding. This includes officiant, florist, bakery, live music, etc. I'll obviously tip my hairdresser/makeup artist in person but everyone else will wait, like another poster said, until I can objectively evaluate their performance. That way too, I can send them a nice little note with feedback and post a review for them at the same time (we're using all very small businesses besides our venue and caterer).
