Tips and Advice for Photography

How did you all decide on the best photographer for your wedding? I feel like one of the reasons why I haven't picked one yet is because i feel insecure of how i look. Any tips from previous brides or current brides. Than you!

We set a budget & decided what we wanted in the package (for us it was included engagement shoot & a print release), then went through reviews & picked the best reviewed ones and pictures you like.

We decided on our venue first and went through sample photographer galleries on our venue's website. We ended up choosing our photographer based off of the colors and various moments she captured throughout this wedding. Set a budget, and reach out to see if they fit within it!

Our photographer was actually the only vendor I found at the one bridal show I went to. I looked at her work and style, talked with her for a while, and decided she was my favorite of all of the photographers I had spoken to. I then showed her work to my (then) fiance, and he agreed he liked her style as well, so we booked her and did our engagement shoot.

Remember your pictures are all you will have left (except of course your spouse! lol) of the day

Besides the budget, I went through reviews and portfolios. Don't be afraid to contact a lot of them. I chose ours because I like his style. And it fits the budget.

    Set a budget
    research their ratings and portfolios
    reach out
set up a phone or in person conference
you want to know you feel comfortable with them
doscuss how a general day would go with them
ask them about their equipment and insurance
just don’t settle until you meet them.

I asked around and there was a name that kept coming up. She was way more than we wanted to spend but since it’s the only thing we’ll have after the wedding we thought why not just meet with her and see what she’s all about. We met with her and she just made me and my fiancé feel so comfortable and excited. We met with a few other photographers but just didn’t feel as comfortable with the others. I have a serious case of RBF and that’s something I’m really worried about at my wedding or in the pictures and when I brought that up to her she mentioned some of her tricks and tips she does to make sure people look happy and natural in the photos. So we went with her and splurged. Her photos are amazing but what it really came down to was her as a person just fit with us better.
