Tipping

Hi loves!
My (now husband) and I were finally able to get married yesterday. I tipped photographers and videographers. They were amazing. Gratuity was included in caterer. I do have a question in regards to my wedding planner. I paid for full planning. It was $1800. We were not happy with her at all. I pretty much planned everything. She was helpful day of and brought 4 helpers with her. They were good. Helped with bar tending (which was literally just pouring wine), helped clear tables. Things like that. I’m conflicted on if I should tip them. She told me she pays them (not sure of amount). I feel that the 1800 I paid her was basically a waste, as I should have just paid for day of coordinating. So is her paying them enough? I’m worried if I tip her, they will not even see any “extra”. I also don’t really want to tip any extra because most of the money we paid her, SHOULD go to them.

Tipping is only for vendors who go above and beyond the call of duty. If you hate the service they provided, or they didn't show or just showed up and did nothing spectacular, then you don't tip.

That's hard to answer especially because you don't know how much she actually gives them. But I get your dilemma, they did good and you want to tip them but you feel like you already paid her enough money.

In my opinion, if you weren't happy with her services then I wouldn't tip her. If she mainly only did DOC, then $1800 is definitely enough to cover that

Isn't it exciting being able to call him "husband" or "hubby?!"
In my honest opinion, I wouldn't tip for work I'm disatisfied with.

I wouldn’t tip her. She did very crappy work & that doesn’t deserve a tip.
Congrats on your wedding!!! When do we get to see the pics??

Agree with the others, she didn’t earn a tip!

😍😍 our venue never reopened, so this was all put on in my parents yard (reception was in a WORKING hay barn). It turned out beautiful! I wish we could have invited more people but safety was definitely a priority!
