Tipping

If the vendor is the business owner, I believe you don’t tip.

Our photographer and DJ both own their own businesses and we will tip them 10-15%.

I don't think you really have to tip. I read a few blogs and listened to some podcasts. Most said you are only tipping if you feel like people went above and did a great job. The dj is getting paid how much per hour like at least 100? Do they need a tip the same way a server at a restaurant making $2.15 an hour needs a tip.

The only outside vendors for our wedding are our photographer, DJ, florist, and baker.

Photographer: this is her side business. We will send a thank you card and $50 gift card as a thank you once pictures come back.

DJ: a musician friend who has his own equipment. He also refuses payment. We're going to send him a thank you card as well with a $50 gift card after the wedding.

Florist: we're picking up the flowers ourselves. We're going to send her a thank you card and post reviews after the wedding.

Baker: dropping off the cake before the wedding and will not be around to serve (our venue handles that). We're going to send them a thank you card and post reviews after the wedding.

Venue: once we get a final count from the venue, we're going to tip each server and bartender $20/each. They'll also be making tips from the bar.
