Tipping the designer of our custom wedding invitations???

Sarah, on April 29, 2014 at 10:26 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

She was PHENOMENAL, I cannot stress this enough. Within 72 hours of "meeting" (This was over facebook and email, she lives out of state) she had designed BEAUTIFUL wedding invites and RSVPs. She worked really hard and was efficient and attentive. She listened to everything and was extremely personable and easy to work with. She is only charging $80 for production! (Printing and shipping is separate obviously) She is giving me a "discount" because a mutual friend referred her to me since I got caught in a pinch. I am in love with her product and I want to tip generously, but I don't know what the protocol is???

Leave her a glowing referral here on WW.

And send her a very nice TY card that she can show to prospective clients.

I've never heard of tipping an invitation designer so I don't know the norm. However, I'm considering restaurant gift cards for some vendors that don't "etquittely" require a tip.

I would recommend her wherever you can (on WW etc), and also send her a thank you letter/card with a recommendation and probably a gift card for a restaurant.
