What is the best practice for tipping the caterer? In our contract I don't see that gratuity is included. So I've been debating back and forth if we need to tip based on the final total or if we tip the servers and bartenders? Our caterer is a little more expensive so I was leaning towards tipping the servers and bartenders. I just want to know what is the best practice.

I would tip them all individually to guarantee the severs and bartenders get their tips. I'm just always worried that if you put it all in one, that the person in charge of splitting it up won't do it accurately lol.
I'm not 100% sure what's the best though since I haven't had to tip like that before, so I'm following this to see the responses!

Our caterer just has us write one check and give it to the maitre d', then they distribute that among all the staff.
