Tipping Site Coordinator?

Sparkles, on July 22, 2015 at 12:28 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

I know this gets discussed quite a bit, but I can't seem to find my answer. We have a site coordinator who is included with the venue. Until 3 months out, she was pretty much the only person I've had contact with. She's been AMAZING in every way possible and is even doing our flowers for us. She is included in the site gratuity, so she's already getting 20% or so, but I feel like since she's gone so far above and beyond I'd like to get her something else. I can't do anything like a gift card because she lives somewhere where there is nothing really chain restaurant wise and I'm not from there and have no idea what's good. I know anything is positive, but no clue how much is the appropriate amount.

Anything at all is appreciated. I'm an event captain and the Event Director at our venue often gets excluded in the tips. When she does get tipped she usually splits it between all the waitstaff. It sometimes is only a few dollars per staff at larger weddings, but she's so generous and never takes any tips herself. That's always something to think about, maybe an alternative to cash would work also, like a spa gift card or something.

    I think 100-200.00.

And write a fabulous note to her boss and to her.

How much of the 20% gratuity actually goes to her though? I assume it is split among a lot of staff.

I tipped my venue coordinator $150, but there was no gratuity included with my bill so she didn't receive anything else. In your case, since she will already be getting some gratuity, I think an extra $50 is appropriate + a nice note to her and her boss.

    I agree with Celia.
