Tipping officiant

If I am not mistaken you don't have to tip her if she runs her own business? However, my wedding photographer runs her own business and I still tipped her because she did an AMAZING job taking our photos and I support her business 100%. And compared to other photographers she was the cheapest, but had the best quality in my opinion. Therefore, I felt like she deserved the tip So, it's all up to you! But again from what I read from previous discussion boards a lot of people said that tips aren't necessary if they run their own business.

Many articles online state that you don't need to tip if they own their own business, which most of our vendors do own their own businesses. Based on our interactions with our vendors up to this point, we anticipate giving all of them a tip, regardless of if they own their business or not. If you feel that your officiant has gone above and beyond, you could certainly give a tip! Otherwise, a tip is not required.

Our officiant owned his own business but we still tipped him even though technically we didn't have to. He did a great job and we wanted to show our appreciation.

View Quoted Comment Completely agree with this. Our Officiant also owns her own business (and is not cheap!), but we do still plan to tip her on top of her fee. She has been wonderful to work with, and if you think about it, your Officiant is really your most important vendor- without them there wouldn’t be a wedding!
