As a former waitress who made $2.50 an hour without tips (as almost all do), I'm all about generous tipping for people who make a tipped wage. But what about hair and makeup artists who don't work for anyone else and therefore get to keep all the money they make, I assume we're supposed to tip them the same amount? Or maybe I'm totally off base and it's not customary to tip them? I obviously tip at regular hair salons because I know they have to pay out the salon itself.
