Tipping for makeup and hair trial?!

Jen, on April 2, 2017 at 4:21 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

I'm stuck! Half of my married friends say that they tipped the makeup lady and hair lady for their trials and the other half said to just tip on the day of the wedding! What is the right thing to do? I feel like I should tip them since they are providing a service for me! HELP!

I would say both. Maybe less for the trial.

Tip for both! I would stick with around 20% tip for the trial and day of hair/MUA. My trial was included in a bridal package with other stuff but I still tipped and I will be tipping on the day of as well.

I think it depends on if you are being charged for your trial. I was charged for the trial, so I didn't tip. But I will tip well on my wedding day. I worked as a makeup artist for many years and didn't charge for trials. Sometimes I received tips, but I was usually booked then for the weddings and received a tip.

Tip for both! I asked my FSIL who does hair and makeup professionally. She said tip is expected. While it is a "trial" for you, it's still hours of their valuable time and service. Should be tipped just like the real wedding day.

I tipped for my hair and make-up trial. I was only charged half-price for the trial though.

What if the hair and makeup artist is the owner of the company?

Tipping on the day of. Paid half of cost for trial at MUA home and will do the same for Hair. Both are not in salons, if they were that would be a different story

I would tip for both, she's still providing you a service for the trial Smiley smile I like what @Olivia said, tipping is good karma.

I still tipped. I tip when I get a hair cut so I don't know why you wouldn't for the hair trial
