Tipping for Hair and MUA trial

Jennifer, on April 12, 2017 at 3:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

Do you tip for your hair and makeup trial? If so, how much? My trial fee for both is included in the final price for my day-of services, so i'm unsure about tipping in this circumstance. I have a different person doing hair and makeup (at the same salon), and will be tipping them separately. As i'm writing this, i'm thinking that I should tip for the trial. But how much?

Sorry if this has been asked recently, I haven't been able to find a discussion on it.

I didn't (not sure if that's a huge faux pas but...) - I plan to tip generously the day of when I pay for all of the services.

I would absolutely tip for the trial--they should be compensated for their time (especially if the cost of the trial is included in the final cost!) I plan to tip about 20%, as I would to get my hair done any other say

I tipped 20% for my hair trial. Now that I think about it tho I don't think I tipped my makeup as the fee was $60 and acted as a deposit toward the day of fees. Hmm. Prolly should have tipped her somehow.

The way my salon books it as trial/bride package and it is one price. So when I have the trial I will him based on his price for a regular updo. The salon automatically collects 18 % but I plan on additional in envelopes as part of my appreciation for coming in early on a Saturday to get us all done by 1130

I would figure out the cost of the trial (even if all inclusive) and at least tip 15-20% of that-

I feel stupid but do you also tip for trial when it's a freelance makeup artist out of her apt?

I always tip for all beauty services, but usually they're in a bigger business where they only make commission. Since this time she'd be getting the full amount I'm paying do you add tip to that?

Definitely tip your stylist for your trial. She is doing exactly what she will be doing for you the day of your wedding, if not 2 or 3 other styles to see what you like better.

Do you tip each artist 20% of the total contracted services or does each artist only get tipped for what they did?
