Didn’t know this was even a thing. I️ thought they just got thank you gifts.

Well I always tip my hair dresser and nail artist but I thought you tipped for photographer but it is interesting they say not if they own their own business. I was planning to give a little extra to the owner of the bed and breakfast were we are eloping and maybe the officiant if she goes above and beyond and I may with the photographers.

Wow our wedding is going to be very budget conscious. Won’t have room to tip too much.

Don't blame you. After the prices some vendors charge like reception halls (21% and 7% tax in FL) I would not tip any thing lol.

This tipping guide varies from website to website. I wasn’t planning to tip the photographer Bc they are already charging over $3500. Hairdressers def have to tip. I honestly hate the whole tipping system, and it’s worse for wedding. These vendors have already charge you so much and still expect a tip. Smh.

Ok so I am not the only one that feels like that. Ooooh Lord for 3500 I would not tip either lol. Damn wedding related things are so pricey.

Maybe it's a regional thing but tipping is the norm, even for everyday services, where I'm from so of course I plan on tipping the vendors. Unfortunately, the price they charge doesn't dictate whether or not they get a tip. It depends on how well they performed their service. It stinks because, as you said, everything wedding related is so much more expensive. It's just something we include in the budget.

Valid point. I planned on tipping (well if I do feel the service was great and left me with an amazing experience) I just wanted to see if this chart was true. I am not having a full reception but if I were I would not tip more on top of a 21% service charge and tax IMO lol. Especially most places that do that I feel over charge for their food packages lol.

Exactly! I haven't booked my HAM yet, but most of the ones I looked into are like almost $300 for bride hair and makeup. For bridesmaid's hair only are like more $65. Those are not including travel and tip. Crazy. I heard people go to bakery store and say they want a regular cake, and don't tell them it's a wedding until the day before. The price doubles when you tell them it's a wedding. That's ridiculous!

Anyway, I saw you mention 7% tax in FL. Are you in Tampa Bay area as well?

I get what you are saying. Even in my area the average wedding day makeup is usually $200. There are some good makeup artists that will charge less, but that's not factoring in the trial and all that. And there is a huge difference between bridesmaid and bride. For some makeup artist I could at least say well they include lashes and they do airbrush and all of that. That was something that I just realized that I needed to splurge on because I could do my own makeup and look good. But at the same time, I'm not a bridesmaid. I'm going to be a bride. So this is one day. I want to look back on a field that I looked flawless. Sadly in my situation we're getting married on a Sunday and my hair stylist doesn't work on Sundays. So I'm going to pay a lot of money to get extensions sewn into my hair. , then pay for someone the next day or a couple of days later style my hair. And put makeup on.

It's a little odd to be that for dj they specifically put $25-150 in tip if you chose to tip.

Honestly I don’t get some of these tips. My venue is a country club and the woman I would consider a sales person, not a coordinator but I still feel I should tip her as she’s going to put my table decorations and chair decor for aisle out. And my dj and photographer both own their own company and think it’s strange to tip on a those services.

I’m tipping my hair, makeup and nail artists as I always would. My photographer owns the company but she is having her assistant do some photography too as a second photographer so would it seem odd to tip the assistant but not the owner? My FH and officiant are both company owners. My baker is also the company owner. The coordinator works for the hotel so not someone I personally hired. I’m all over the place for tips!

Ha ha so am I. Planning to tip photography, hair, make up and nail as always like you said although on make up I feel they're charging a lot so maybe. If I got with the people I want included trial it will be over 300 maybe close to 400 if I pay for my MOH but I still might. Maybe not a full 20%but I might if I feel she rocked it ha ha. My officiant maybe a little bit but I will also feed these people too ha ha. Cake baker probably not. Some people I tip if they did something a little extra but for some it's hard when you're doing your job and you're charging what you're worth. I may still tip peeps at the end if I felt they went above and beyond.
