Tipping Cake Person

Ann, on September 20, 2020 at 4:09 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

I'm trying to figure out all the tipping situations as our wedding approaches. My photographer, videographers, and guitarist all own their own business, and I read online that you don't need to tip if that's the case. I feel weird not tipping, but I'm already spending so much. Is that normal or do they all expect tips? I don't plan on tipping my cake person, since she owns her own business, but she is delivering the cake and adding the floral (which I'm providing). She is also charging me a $30 delivery fee. Would I need to tip her in that case?

Is she going above and beyond the call of duty? If yes then tip her.

I mean technically you do not have to as she is charging her prices based on what she feels she is worth but if you do I have seen like $5 - $10 is ok.

I would only tip if she’s going above & beyond. Your providing the additional flowers needed & she’s already charging you extra...

We tipped both daughter's photographers and videographers, who owned their own businesses. We tipped each about $200 in cash and left it up to them to split that with their 2nd shooter as they saw fit. We also tipped the cake delivery driver $25 (in addition to the delivery charge).
