Tipping an officiant

FutureMrsKosloske, on June 28, 2017 at 5:26 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

My FH and I are getting down to the small details of the wedding, because our wedding is a little over two weeks away! Am I supposed to tip my officiant and how much? My officiant charges $450.

I would say $100 would be a reasonable amount.

Ditto on the $100. I think this is one vendor where it's especially important to have a meaningful thank you note - they are they ones marrying you after all!

Yes you're supposed to tip. I would recommend $50. $100 seems a little too much in my opinion.

I think you are good with any amount between $50 and $100, just give what you can afford. The WW tipping guide says $50-100, so I think you are good either way.

I've also heard suggested doing a gift rather than a tip. But I'd page @Celia or one of the others for the expert opinion.
