How does a bartender having a tip jar out at a wedding usually go over? Is it as bad as a cash bar?

I was thinking $150 even though we likely won't use all of the alcohol.

I’d give the bartender $80-$160 additIonal at the end of the wedding. Your attendees will also naturally tip him/her as we are accustomed to doing even without a tip jar.

I should create a page specially for this topic. It is really shady that companies don’t mention this upfront. Most private bartenders don’t promote their services on big platforms. We are mainly word of mouth. When you go through the bartenders directly some charge $25 per bartender, an hour plus tips on the alcohol bill. Most traveling bartenders bring all the alcohol, bar, water, juice, limes, mixers etc. Anyway I hope this was helpful.

Sorry I’m seeing your messages after I’m replying. Yes $150 is good.

A jar doesn't bother me. I don't think its tacky or rude at all. I actually appreciate it, because then I know where to put my tips. I say definitely do it.
