TIP for Event Coordinator

LuvBeingMarried2Him!, on July 22, 2016 at 6:29 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

Hi everyone. I am having my reception a hotel and I've been working very closely with the event coordinator there in charge of my wedding.

She's been absolutely delightful and has done everything to help us. How much should I give her as a tip to truly show my appreciation? I was thinking maybe $200? I really have no idea.

How much have you ladies given? Please help.

I don't think she will be expecting a tip, so I think any amount you feel is appropriate is lovely!

Oh wow really?! I thought most people did. That's great news. I'm glad she will be happy with $200.00.

I gave $150 to my venue coordinator. $200 is very generous.

And yes, tips are standard for that role so I don't agree with annakay that she won't expect it.

I gave $150 to mine too...$200 is very nice. Smiley smile

I actually heard the opposite that they do expect a tip for that role so I made sure I budgeted it in.

Perfect!!!! I thought so too. She's worked so hard and coordinated with other vendors. She's great.

Following. We're doing a hotel too and our coordinator has been amazing! She will be our most generous tip.

I think I'm going to do $200. She definitely deserves it.

Depends on your custom. Our venue coordinator says we get her for free so there is no charge or tips. She also said the staff already have their tips included in the "service charge" included in the bill.

So I don't think we will tip but maybe just try to make her life easier lol.

I am so glad you asked this. Our wedding is next weekend and I was curious about the same thing. We also have an event coordinator who came with our venue that has truly been absolutely outstanding. I will follow suit on the recommended amount people have replied with.

Yes our gratuity is built into the fee for the venue but she really has gone above and beyond.

I still don't see why you can't give a tip if she has done a good job VC. She is not "free" - her services are built into your venue fee (as with most venue coordinators). This doesn't mean that she shouldn't receive a tip (or wouldn't appreciate one) for good work.

I am giving her $200. Were you referring to me or someone else? I never said she was free. I appreciate all of her hard work.

I think $200 is very generous. I agree with the rest that $150 is great, but if you think she went above and beyond and you budgeted for her then go for it.
