I just looked at my guest list and the total number not including me and fh is 22 people and 5 of which are under 6... i swear i just want to forgo a venue and just throw a bbq in the back yard... it seems like such a waste to spend 3000 on the wedding when it could go to a down payment on a house that augast. idk what im looking for in this i think i just needed to vent

You could go with private dining room at a restaurant. It might be cheaper !

I might look into it we already have a dj,photobooth,officiant and photographer booked for the day all through the same company and just did deposit on the cake though

You booked all that without a venue? And a DJ and a photo booth for less than 20 adults? It’s obviously your wedding and your preferences but if I had such a small group I would 100% do a private room at a restaurant I love.
I’d keep the cake and the officiant but a dj, photo booth and a big venue?? Those would be a waste to me. We’re talking like 2 tables, and then a loud dj in a huge space? I’d picture it, and think about it for sure before I went with that.

Not a huge space... we were planning on renting out space at a park thats off a main road in my town so a loud dj is neccasary. and we cant book the venue until the 2nd of january cuz thats how the city parks office does it.
