VIP November 2021

Timing - save the dates and invites..

on September 2, 2019 at 9:14 AM Posted in Planning 0 19
Our wedding is 11.08.2020
(Which is also my birthday!!!) 😁

Most of our guests are first responders, in law enforcement, politics and many of them will have to know quite a while in advance..

When should I send out the Save the Dates ? I was thinking the beginning of May..

(Yes I know we are planning way ahead, some have made comments before about it — but that’s just us) 😬🤷🏼‍♀️

I think most timelines say save the dates should be about 10 months before the big day 🙂

Our wedding is this November 9th. We sent out our save the dates in May this year. It was good because we had several people mention they usually go on vacation then. I say send them in May.

I sent mine in November for my August wedding. I’m a first responder, and the more time you give people who work shift work to get off that shift, the better!! Half of our guest list where from the ambulance company where we met, so I wanted to make sure we sent out the notice early! We also sent out actual invites out 3 weeks earlier than normal, to give them extra time to request the shift off.

We sent out STD’s in April for our October wedding. We also have a lot of law enforcement guests attending. The 6 month time frame, which is typical for STD’s, has appeared to be perfect. We sent out our invitations exactly 8 weeks before and our RSVP’s are coming in and we haven’t had a single “no”.

We sent ours 10 months ahead. The majority of our guests are traveling to be at the celebration.

I say send them a year to 10 months before. So November of this year or January of next year. If people are traveling they’ll want to request vacation with time and make all the proper arrangements.

Our wedding is September 14th... yup just a few days away. We had a similar problem, we have a lot of people who needed to know in advance so our STD's went out in January. A few of our local friends and family were then like "we got the STD so long ago, when are the invites coming our way?" but most people were really grateful for the extra time to be able to plan and request off. So for us we sent them out 8 - 9 months before. We sent the invites out early too but that was because of me being so excited that I just couldn't wait any longer

I'd send them out 6-12 months in advance, depending on how many out of state guests you have! We sent ours out 10 months in advance with our hotel block information, and before our invites went out (3 months in advance) we had 20+ rooms booked.

I would send save the dates sooner... maybe February or March! Then invitations can wait until August or September
