Timelines

Holly, on September 5, 2020 at 12:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
I'm getting married next month. I'm trying to set up a timeline without being too bossy. Is it ok to give all vendors a timeline as well as all bridal party and famiy????

Whatever timeline you come up with, I would definitely give your vendors a copy. I would also suggest getting input from your vendors about your timeline to make sure they think it is reasonable (such as, does the photographer think you left enough time for family photos? does the DJ need additional time for switching from ceremony to reception? Etc).

Yes! You absolutely need to help guide vendors and keep them informed.

I also provided a timeline to set the expectations for the bridal party and family.

YES, definitely do - and be as detailed as you can possibly be. And then, probably add more details. I'd really think about how you imagine the day is going to go, and then legit map it out.

It's the difference between going - 7pm: Toasts, Cake, Dances and laying out:

    -Toasts: 1) Name, 2) Name, 3) Name, 4) Name

    -Cake cutting - Music selection

    -Dances: 1) Father/ daughter (Music)....etc.

The more detailed one lays out the expectations more clearly (IMO). I'm in the final week and just put the last touches on mine (it's front/ back one page). I'm planning to give it to venue/ DOC, extra copies for DJ/ photographers/whoever, all bridesmaids/ groomsmen, and our immediate family + officiant.

If they don't know where they need to be/ what they need to do after that, I clearly have no more help for them. LOL Best of luck!

Yes!! It is your day. I have a timeline and I will be giving it to my vendors, bridal party, and family members prior to the wedding.

You should give people a timeline at least those in your wedding party. I contracted all my vendors requesting their timelines. I have a day of wedding coordinator who is managing everything for me. I could look into one. They aren't expensive especially if it is just a one day thing. Print off the timelines as well!
