If you're doing a timeline or order of events for your guests, what are you including on it? I keep going back and forth! Here's my idea so far: 5:00 - Ceremony Begins 5:30-6:30 - Cocktail Hour 6:30 - Reception doors open 7:00 - Dinner & Toasts 8:00 - Dance the night away! Should I include...

If you're doing a timeline or order of events for your guests, what are you including on it? I keep going back and forth! Here's my idea so far:

      • 5:00 - Ceremony Begins

      • 5:30-6:30 - Cocktail Hour

      • 6:30 - Reception doors open

      • 7:00 - Dinner & Toasts

      • 8:00 - Dance the night away!

Should I include first dance? Cake cutting? I feel like I don't know the exact times of a lot of these things.

Hi there, you should definitely have the details hashed out because it helps the day run smoother. Your DJ or photographer will be able to help you with this if you are unsure of how to do it or reach out to a friend who has had a wedding.

Below is my timeline for my 2pm wedding. It has from the moment I wake up to the moment we leave the reception. You dont need to display this to guests but on the day of the wedding you don't want to be looking at your new hubby going "what do we want to do next? when should the last song be?

Having these details of the smaller things like a dance or cake cutting help shape the bigger things too like the dinner and the dancing and the cocktail.

    7 am- Light breakfast

8 am- Start of hair for 5 bridesmaid and bride (professionally done)

12:30 pm- bridesmaids start makeup and get dressed

1 pm- Photographer shows up for get ready photos for bridal and groom party

2 pm- ceremony scheduled to start

    2:15 pm- ceremony actually start

    2:45 pm- ceremony end

2:50 pm- photos of family, wedding party, couple. Hors d'oeveres are served.

    4 pm- couples entrance

    4:10 pm- Dinner starts

    5 pm- Toasts

    5:30 pm- First dance

    5:45 pm- Father-daughter and then mother-son dances

    6 pm- Bouquet toss

    6:15 pm- cake cutting/desert

    7:00 pm- Dance party
