Timeline questions

Marcus & Marlisa, on September 9, 2019 at 3:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 15
For the bride's who are doing a first dance and father daughter dance, when in your timeline did you do it? Before or after dinner? I am thinking after dinner so my guest won't have to wait so long for dinner but I don't want my guest feeling restless either (tends to happen after getting full off dinner lol). I am also leaning towards doing it immediately after I cut the cake???? So as they enjoy cake, I can enjoy dancing with my love and my uncle and brother (who is walking me down the isle). I am also thinking about scrapping the whole father daughter dance as my father passed away when I was 14 so that's why my uncle and brother are walking me down and my uncle is up in age so I don't want to strain him too much... 🤔🤔 ...I need help! Any suggestions would be great!

We're having our first dance right after we're introduced coming into the reception and dinner will come immediately after a welcome from my dad and a prayer/blessing from FH's grandfather. Toasts will be given as dinner is finishing up, then father/daughter & mother/son dance. I plan on doing like 45 minutes of dancing afterwards and then cutting the cake. Hope this helps!

We are doing the first dance right after the big entrance followed by mother son and father daughter dances and then we have a special dance planned. We will then follow with dinner and speeches then cake cutting. We are getting it all done in the beginning so we have all night to enjoy ourselves.

We are doing opposite of PPs.. We are on a tight timeline post ceremony to get formal photos done before sunset. We figured with a light cocktail hour people wouldn't be starving, but in case we are running behind it would add a buffer and people would start to want dinner soon after we enter.. Here's our timeline..

    - Entrance

    - Dinner

    - Toasts

    - Cake Cutting

    - First Dance

    - F/D Dance and then M/S Dance

We are doing out first dance immediately after being introduced into the reception, then the spotlight dances will come after dinner and speeches.

We are doing our first dance after introductions. We have decided on the father/daughter mother/son dance yet. I’m gonna let the DJ decide that

When we were introduced into the reception, we went straight into our first dance. The father daughter dance was after the cake cutting, right before they opened the dance floor.

We are doing ours before dinner. Our guests won’t be starving because it will be right after cocktail hour, where hors d’oeuvres will be served. Us & our wedding party will do our entrance at the end of cocktail hour, do our first dance, father daughter dances, then head in to dinner.

I am doing my first dance & father daughter dance after dinner. Since your uncle is getting older, i would just do the father daughter dance with your brother.

We did our first days after dinner and toasts. We loved it that way, because it only did everyone get to eat sooner (YAY!), but also our first dance led into the rest of dancing and the party really well! Our DJ said it’s his favorite timeline to do, for that reason.

We will have our grand entrance then start dinner service. Father/Daughter, then Mother/Son to our 1st Dance. Then open dancing.
