Time of Church Ceremony

Kristina, on February 15, 2018 at 9:31 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

We are currently in the process of booking the church for our big day (not until Oct. 2019). The problem I'm running into is that most of the churches only allow weddings to happen earlier in the day (due to Saturday regularly scheduled masses); the church we belong to is at 1:30pm for a Saturday wedding. We have shopped around and the latest is 2:00pm. These times don't really allow much "get ready" time for me and my girls the day of once you factor in photographers/videographers coming to the house. Has anyone else had this issue? Did your morning work out well with timing and not being rushed? I really don't want to add extra stress to the day of, and I know I'll be anxious about getting everything done on time as it is. We want to get married in the Church, so I guess I just need to work it out.

A 2pm wedding allows more than enough time to get ready. Our ceremony is scheduled at 2, we're being picked up at 1pm and plan on being ready by 12:30.

Your photographer should be prepared for this and keep you on schedule.

Every bride who gets married on a Saturday in a Catholic church somehow seems to get hair, makeup and photos done before the ceremony starts. You will too. Every vendor you work with will have experience with afternoon weddings. They'll show up, do their jobs and get you out the door as scheduled.

You'll have time to get ready, you'll just need to start getting ready earlier.

You’ll have plenty of time, you’ll just need to start getting ready earlier than I’m assuming you envisioned. Our ceremony is due to start at 2pm, we’ll be getting ready starting at 7am, to be ready by 1230/1. We plan to get picked up around 130, as the church is only a 15- 20 minute drive from the venue.

Yea i agree with the others there is time, its just much earlier. Try to get as much done prior or ready to go once everyone arrives so it is easier to manage that early.
