Time is going by so slow but so fast!?

Ceelie , on July 29, 2019 at 1:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

Anyone else feel like time is going by so slow but so fast at the same time? It's weird. Like during the hours of the day it just drags, but when the end of a week comes I'm like "wow, it's already August." I need something to keep me preoccupied, work isn't cutting it!Smiley cry

I know the feeling! I go from "I've got plenty of time!" to "We've got to get this done now or everything is gonna be ruined!"

Oh yeah my workdays go soooo slow especially since I have no real project right now. But I agree how do the months fly by but the days don't?! I am just constantly looking up wedding decor but I pretty much almost have everything bought so idk what else to do.

Yeah I do my very best to keep myself preoccupied at work by looking up things to add and what not.

I still have a year out for my wedding, but I have completed so much already. All the time that has gone by has gone by in a blink of an eye! When you’re working to complete another thing for your wedding is seems to take a lot of time and effort, but overall it’s just happening so quickly!

Yes. It’s driving me nuts. Because people keep saying oh we have plenty of time to do this or that. It drives me nuts cause I’m like uhhh no not really... we have 6 months... I realize it feels like a long time but it’s not... they want to do everything 2-3 months before the wedding (which is thanksgiving time and Christmas time and we are already very busy). I feel like I’m gonna go crazy.
Also I don’t work right now so I am at home and just think wedding all the time. I drive myself crazy.

I feel the same way. At the end of each week I look back and think the time is coming very soon. Its getting closer and closer and then I think the time is not coming faster enough. We're just excited!!!

Yes! I feel like I have so much time (46 days) but at the same time I'm like "omg we have so much to do!" My workdays are dragging and my weekends are over in a blink of an eye. I have most of the wedding stuff down, but now I have to focus on the small decorative stuff....and get my FH to pick out a *?&^% suit!

Ugh same! Between the wedding and the new house I can't focus on anything at work... I just want to be at home prepping!

This is 100% us right now. We literally went shopping for a suit for him yesterday! We're 33 days out so you guys are right behind us. I have all the big things done, but just like you I still need to figure out small decor pieces lol.

That’s pretty normal hahaha. I’d recommend just making lists of what you have to get done and when you have to do it. The most helpful “list” I made was basically a calendar I put together in a shared excel doc with my husband. I made a calendar that led up to the wedding date and put tasks on various days. Pink for mine, blue for his, black for both, lol. It was super helpful to visualize the time left! And made me realize I was over-booking my weekends and there were some minor things I could get done on weekdays just to make the weekends less busy and overwhelming.

Also keeping a journal of what I’m doing and how I’m feeling was great! It was so fun to look back on even just a month or so after the wedding. That’s a great thing to do to feel like you’re “doing something” wedding-related, and just an outlet to talk about it endlessly hahaha

I am having the hardest time finding decor because we are having a non-rustic wedding...and everything is rustic! it's driving me nuts haha.

Glad he isn't the only one who procrastinates. Our JP told him that his ONLY job is to buy a suit and stop stressing me out.

Wow I actually really love that idea with the excel sheet! It's no wonder my FH is always left in the dark haha... he has no idea what's going on! I'm going to try that out Smiley smile I also love the journal idea, with all the emotions and excitement happening right now. Thank you!

Oh yeah, I hear you. We're trying to avoid anything that has that "country" feel simply because it doesn't suit us at all. Makes things so difficult! And yeah the groom needs the simplest of tasks lol.

Same!!! Everything seems to be taking forever until I have a day off to knock some things off our list and then it feels like we don't have time for anything! Overall I feel like we're only of on a couple of things timewise but they stress me big time when the weekends are full of doing everything else.

100%. I’m starting back at school again and I’m not ready for a university now, the change from a community college will be so different and it’s already happening! To think, I did all of this stuff like graduate and get engaged during this summer to going back is weird. Time does need to move quicker, I’m so excited to get married!

I have been feeling this way ever since we booked our venue over a year ago! The days/weeks move so slow but the months seem to fly by. I remember feeling like time was dragging when it was a year and a half out. Now that we are just about 6 months out I’m starting to panic about all those diy projects I signed myself up for. Hoping to start on those now so I’m not mega stressed at 1 month out 🤣
