Time for Photos

Christina, on September 30, 2023 at 9:37 AM Posted in Community Conversations 2 2
Hi! I was wondering how much time people are allotting for photos pre-ceremony.

We are not doing getting ready photos (I don’t really care about what kind of stuff). We aren’t allowed to get to our venue until 1 PM and the ceremony starts at 3:30 PM. Ceremony is at the same venue as the reception. I have a small bridal party (only 2 on my side and 3 on the grooms side). We’re only doing family photos with parents, an aunt and uncle, and 1 friend outside of the bridal party. We are doing a first look. Is 2 hours enough for these pictures? I’m thinking it must be since the venue functions this way, knowing MOST people take pictures there because the grounds are beautiful, but wanted others input. Thank you!!

I would think that would be plenty of time if you're not changing locations. Just to make sure, I would have a detailed shot list including every combination of people you want. It would also be helpful to designate one person (MOH?) to work with the photographer to wrangle everyone and keep things moving.

Best person to ask would be the photographer, but in general, yes, I think that's enough time.
