Time for Photos When you Don't Do a First Look

My fiance is super sweet and doesn't want to see me at all on the wedding day until I am walking down the aisle towards him. I absolutely love this idea, if I'm honest, and am more than happy to oblige.

Here's my concern.

We are getting married at 4pm, and our ceremony location is separate from the reception location (for a plethora of reasons). I want to make sure we have time to get photos together with me in my wedding dress, but I also don't want to keep the rest of our guests waiting for a long time while we're off getting pictures. The ceremony is at 4, the reception is at 6, and it's about a 30 minute trip from one place to the next (long story short--our venue is very in-the-middle-of-nowhere).

We have 6 hours of coverage with our photographer. For those who have gone through this (and those who have ideas), what's a good way to make sure everyone gets the pictures they need and we don't hold up the party after the ceremony? I'm trying to figure out how would could do all of his photos (him with his groomsmen/family) and if we could do mine separately BEFORE the ceremony, and then only have his and I's photos (with out family and with the bridal party and yada yada) after the fact?

Do you guys have any ideas, or thoughts on what it could look like? I was thinking we would do the "first look," since it's a lot more convenient, but he has his heart set and this is the only thing he's actually asked for so I really want to make this work for us.

I like how specific you are. No such thing as overorganized to me!
OH MY 1000 is so many! I'm going crazy over my 220! You are so brave and amazing for taking this on. It's so great that you guys have so many people you care enough about to want them attending your special event Smiley smile it sounds like your FH is being a BOSS too and helping out, which is friggin awesome. I am wishing you all the best in your planning adventure! I am excited to see the pictures eventually on here! Smiley winking

I AM CRYING JUST LOOKING AT YOUR PICTURES.

These are soooo precious! Thank you for assuring me that it'll be worth it. I have a crier on my hands as well, so I'm thinking about having a whole tissue box attached to my dress like an accessory Smiley xd .

I went and read your whole wedding story because these pictures are just so beautiful. You have an AWESOME testimony. Thanks for sticking around still and giving the rest of us solid advise!

Stylist can work while photographers take some pics. If you don't want getting ready pics, book the stylist earlier and then the photographer. Ask your stylist about how long they need and schedule around that.

Lol. 1000 isn't even everybody. We plan to live stream for those who can't make it (getting married on Oahu. He's in Arizona, I'm in Ohio with most of his family being on Oahu, most of my family in Indiana, so some people undoubtedly won't be able to make it). My FH is definitely amazing. 😍 Thank you! I look forward to posting them, we're just over a year away! We couldn't be more excited!

Somebody recommended it to me, since our wedding is outdoors and I'm passing it along: make sure you have ONE person who isn't your photographer or part of your bridal party to be your picture coordinator. They'll make sure that everyone is where they should be and picture ready.

Are you having a cocktail hour (or 1.5 hour) between the 4 pm ceremony and 6 pm reception?
