Time for last dance and send off?

Taylor, on September 20, 2017 at 9:48 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Our ceremony is at 5:30 with reception following at the same location. What would be a good time to have our last dance and send off? I don't want the reception to be to short or long.

I think this is a know your crowd answer. It depends on your crowd and if you are having an after party. Our crowd was mostly older and our venue was 45+ mins away for most. Most people left by 10:30. Our ceremony also started at 5:30. We also decided to stay for the whole reception and were the last ones to leave so no send off. I would rather party with my family and friends than have a send off.

My ceremony is at 6pm and I plan on wrapping up at 11. There will be an after party. Our venue prefers we stage our sparkler sendoff earlier in the evening while everyone is still sober.

We are doing our send off at around 10:50pm so everyone can be out of the venue by 11pm

Most receptions are less than 5 hours long. So I would think 10-10:30 would be good.

Our reception is from 4-8 so our last dance and send off starts at 7:30. Plus we are having an after party/gathering.

We are doing a "fake send off" at 8:30 (our reception starts at 6:30)
