Time for Bridesmaids Makeup

Dani, on July 12, 2023 at 6:09 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 3

Hi everyone,

For those of you who will have a makeup artist available for your bridesmaids, did you receive a time estimate from the artist about how long it will take per bridesmaid/ how much time you'll have to plan for? I know it will vary depending on the style of makeup, but I'm looking for estimates so I can get a general range. I was a bridesmaid in 2020 and recall makeup taking maybe 30-35 minutes (and internet sources seem to say 30 minutes), but I just asked the former bride and she thinks was told to plan for 60 minutes per bridesmaid.

What does your getting-ready timeline look like for your bridesmaids' makeup? If you've been a bridesmaid and got your makeup done, how long did it take?

Thanks!

My MUA is planning around an hour for everyone. She and the hairdresser will work at the same time (not on the same person though), so we're starting 8 hours in advance for 7 people to have a buffer.

My makeup artist said to alot 45 minutes for bridesmaids, and 1.5 hours for myself. She didn’t think she would actually need that much time, but said it’s better to be prepared and have too much time than too little, just in case something unexpected happened.

My HMUA goes by 40 minute increments, so she proposed 40 minutes for hair and 40 minutes for makeup for each bridesmaid (and then two 40-minute slots each for me).
