I would work on photography/videography and catering ASAP. If you can't book with people you want, then I would push the date back. But it's also very possible that some people in your area may still be available. Then jump on the other vendors right after. The rest other than vendors is definitely doable, especially because the bridal shower/bachelorette party should be planned by someone other than you. As for finding a dress, I would also hop on that pretty quickly, you may have more luck online than in a store depending on estimated shipping dates. I would recommend Azazie if you're looking to go the online route, or David's Bridal should be able to have a good many dresses that could come in within a couple months. Best of luck!

Don't stress! I promise it'll all come together. I booked the majority of our vendors within the first two months of our engagement and we were only going to be engaged for 10 months (8 months now that we've had to move our date up). You may have to sacrifice your most wanted vendor along the way, but it's just a matter if it's more important to you to have every specific vendor you want or have the date that you want. To us, it was most important that we have a short engagement! Wedding planning can get stressful very easily, just take a step back and breathe and it'll all come together eventually Smiley smile

I would start looking for these vendors ASAP. I found my bridal party robes on Etsy. I have provided a link before. The seller was very easy to work with and super nice. She will make a custom listing for you if you need a certain number of them. Her listings on Etsy are for 1 or 5, but I needed more than 5 so she made me a custom link. I was very happy with them. I know my brother's wedding I helped the bride find a hair and makeup artist 3 weeks before the wedding. It isn't recommended you wait that long, but she forgot. As for a wedding dress, Azazie has wedding dresses. They have the option to try on before you buy. It is a little late to go into a salon and order one unless you want a sample dress. If I knew where you were located I would have no problem researching some of these vendors for you.

Totally feasible!! Start booking vendors ASAP...don’t worry about bridal shower / robes / bachelorette for now - that’ll all fall into place. Start by enlisting some help from family and friends to help recommend / research vendors!!

I have included some links to vendors in your area that have really good reviews. What I would do is read their reviews and reach out to them either via email or telephone to see if you like them and if they are available for your wedding. Calling might be best because you can get an answer quickly. I would also check with your venue if they have a preferred or recommended vendor list. Once you contact them, I would make a list so you know who you contacted. I hope this helps.

Yes. It’s doable. You have 5 months. So with the age of the internet, video chat, etc., you can view websites, speak with and book all vendors within the next few days (or a few weeks if extra time is needed due to the holiday season). The key is knowing exactly what you want (a detailed vision of all aspects of your wedding day) and being decisive, instead of lingering forever on each & every decision.

I wouldn't wait on the dress another day 😐I ordered my dress over a month ago and it wont arrive until after March. Wedding dresses usually take 4-8mos to come in, and then you will probably need alterations. I'd also suggest you get the rest of your vendors lined up asap. Some of them will book a year or two in advance.

Also, if you know of anyone that recently got married in your area I would ask them for recommendations. If you have Facebook you could make a status asking your friends for recommendations.

Hey fellow Michigan bride!! (I’m from the Grand Rapids area) This is totally doable, I’ve been doing it for my wedding within a 4 month time period Smiley smile I would like to repeat that you should get on catering, photography, and attire sooner rather than later. I’d also like to suggest that you go into a bridal store and head to the clearance racks to try on dresses in your size/budget, because those dresses are usually still good condition and you don’t usually have to wait for shipping (because you can take them home as soon as you purchase them). I did that for my dress, and the only thing I really needed fixing (aside from the usual hemming and whatnot) was my zipper, but alterations does that easily Smiley smile

You're welcome! Some of these vendors offer multiple services and will offer discounts if you book them for more than one service. Good luck!!

I definitely think it’s doable as long as you find your officiant, catering, photography, videography ASAP.
