Tidbit of info for carnival cruise wedding

Private_User832, on April 6, 2017 at 11:56 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

For those having a carnival cruise wedding, I wanted to share something I learned to avoid this happening to you.

I decided on doing welcome bags for my guests. They deliver to the cabins for a $1 a piece. After speaking with carnival about their restrictions, I buy all the items.

Just found out in random conversation with my carnival rep that they won't deliver the bags on the first day. It's only a four day cruise and my guests won't get their welcome bags until the end of their second day (so halfway through the cruise).

I definitely wouldn't have been doing welcome bags and bought what I did had I known they weren't delivered the first day.

Just wanted to give a heads up if it helps anyone

Know that you were just sharing information, but do you have a small enough group that you could deliver them to your guests cabins without going through the cruise?

I plan to hand-deliver as a way of saying a quick hello.

Thanks for the heads up! We are going to do welcome bags, but now I am thinking people can get them at the send off, champagne toast.

Oh wow I didn’t know that about Carnival. We’re doing our wedding in November, so I’ve started thinking about what to about welcome bags. Do you think it’s worth it to spend a little extra on a wedding favor and skip the welcome bag? We’ll be having at least 30 people, some kids, so it might be a challenge to create bags that will fit for everyone.

I mean, I could definitely go to 30 rooms and deliver the welcome bags, even on a 4 day cruise. You are paying for their convenience and extra work for the staff, that is not typical of their regular duties, plus people who work on a cruise work 80 hours a week. Cruises especially Carnival are likely to nickel and dime you on almost everything, I've learned. Not that I mind them, I like Carnival, but I also am paying $15 a drink because I am on vacation and can't justify spending $1,000 to drink 15 alcoholic drinks a day either. I am going to guess you will see your guests before and after the wedding on the boat, I'd just give the bags to them then. If I've ever gone on a cruise with people, I ALWAYS see them every single day. Actually depending on how many people you have you could have them meet you in a dining room ( not during dining hours, and deliver them to them.) Then send them on their way. I'm assuming these are people you are close with, so it's not weird. Plus I'd be very tempted to want to spend all my time with these people because I presumably like them.
