Tiaras - Yay or Nay?

Amanda, on February 7, 2021 at 12:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22
Taking a break from all of the covid talk!! I need advice on bridal headpieces/tiaras... I am drawn to a more petite tiara. I think it would be dainty and beautiful/elegant, but I know some people think tiaras are tacky!! What are y’all’s opinions??? For reference, the last picture is of my dress (it’s not me wearing it) - the underskirt is almost a blush color. My ring is also rose gold so I’m thinking a small rose gold tiara to match. I’m wearing my hair half up half down, going for a boho princess vibe if that is a thing haha. Feel free to be brutally honest!!! Tiaras - Yay or Nay? 1

I personally think tiara's are tacky and wouldn't consider wearing one myself - but don't let other peoples opinions sway you from doing what you want!

I always hate the word tacky because it is so harsh, but I agree that it's personal style and you should wear what you love, not what others want you to. I don't care for tiaras because you're not royalty or at a pageant. But they can be pretty.

#TiaraBrides! I’m wearing one & I found the perfect one. I didn’t want one that’s too heavy as it would give me a headache after a couple of hours. Tiaras - Yay or Nay? 5

I’m one of those who think tiaras are a bit on the tacky side. I agree that it’s definitely “princess-y” though! Now all that being said, I think the first tiara you posted is absolutely beautiful! That one looks boho and not tacky.

I don’t mind a tiara. I am not a fan of larger ones, I think the options shown are beautiful, and if that’s what you want then I say go for it. The first one looks more like a headpiece so it doesn’t directly read tiara like the other two.

That looks beautiful Michelle! I agree, I don’t want the tiara to feel heavy or be too big.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I think my concern is that I wouldn’t want the tiara to read as if I think I’m a queen/arrogance etc. But I think a smaller one should work. I have lots of hair also so it’s not going to look really big on my head if that makes sense.

I personally think tiaras are tacky. A headpiece is fine, but an over the top tiara reads to me as “I aM tHe PrInCeSS” and bridezilla.

I wore a tiara for wedding so I'm pro tiaras. My husband actually surprised me by giving me one the morning of our wedding. He knew I wanted one but didn't buy one because he told me he didn't like them because he wanted it to be a surprise that he bought me one.

I'm personally anti-tiara, but that applied to me and my wedding - you should do what makes you feel beautiful - if you wear a tiara no one will get judgy (and if they do, who needs them)

I'm personally not a fan of tiaras, at least for myself, but I think the first one fits your vision! It looks a little more modern, which feels more boho to me. And I LOVE your dress!

Your dress is gorgeous and I think it will look great with a tiara. Personally I love tiaras and am wearing one on my wedding day. Tiaras - Yay or Nay? 7

Heres a not so great pic of mine. (Its the only one I have, and I cannot wait to see it when my hair and makeup is actually done.)

Definitely not my cup of tea, as they give off more of a pageant vibe than a wedding vibe to me, but it's your wedding and you should wear whatever makes you happy.

I do not like them personally, and feel your dress wouldn’t suit if (more of a ball gown style).

It’s a personal style choice. Tiaras aren’t my thing, they remind me of prom not a wedding. Personally I think a sparkle headband gives a similar effect:

Ok, that said, I love boho crystal tiaras or crowns though! 😆 Tiaras - Yay or Nay? 9

I love the little tiaras they are not tacky at all... i actually find veils And lace to be overdone and tacky... i am going to be wearing a celtic circlet myself with no veil.
