My wedding is three years away and I am still stressing out about every little detail. I already have our venue booked but I do not know what to do from there. We have a bridal expo on August 18th and I know that will help with prices on flowers, DJs and photo/cinematography. However, does anyone...

FH and I have a 3 year engagement. We got engaged in May 2014 and didn't do anything at all until last July when we booked our date. We just recently booked our photog and I purchased my dress. You can absolutely get a feel for what kind of wedding you want, budget, guests and other things. You can research venues too. But as other ladies have said I would wait a few months and then get going on stuff!

The vendors who are contacting you already must know that they book up quickly. If you like their work, put down a minimal retainer for them to hold your date.

I'm willing to take retainers more than a year in advance, but most couples book me 9-11 mos. in advance.
