Thoughts on Walking Down the Aisle Alone

To put it simply, I would never let my father "give me away." He's not even invited to the wedding. I'm not very close to mom, so I wouldn't consider her either. Is it wrong of me to want to walk alone? I have a step father that treats me very good, and although we both really like each other, we aren't necessarily father/daughter close. He's more like a friend. I want to walk by myself, but I kinda feel like I "owe it" to my grandfather or my step father. What are your thoughts and opinions? Will I be offending them if I don't ask them to "hand me over," which I'm honestly not a fan of anyways .

Yeah I never liked the giving away tradition and my dad is deceased. The groom doesn't need to be escorted cause hes a grown man; I'm a grown woman and walked by myself (without having to hold onto parents) for several years now haha. Plus, then no one blocks one side of my dress! Win win

I plan to walk in with my partner. He's entering into this with me, so we're doing it as a pair.

FH and I are going to walk down the aisle together. Our outdoor ceremony has plenty of space so we will walk from each side behind the guests to the aisle and walk down from there. I am in the same boat, dad mia and don't really want my mom to do it. And like other have said, I don't need someone to give me away!

I can across this post because I was struggling with the decision of who would get to walk me down the aisle at my own wedding in August since my biological father has never been in the picture, but thanks to all this wonderful posts I got the courage to feel powerful walking by myself, so to all you strong ladies deciding to walk alone.. cheers to you all!!!
