This community is amazing for bouncing ideas off of, so I wanted to see about this one:
We'll have about 16 tables of 8/9 folks a piece. We went to a wedding a few years ago where right after cocktail hour, the bride and groom waited in a photogenic spot near the food and as the MC dismissed table numbers we stopped and took a group photo with them as a table and then they grabbed their food, which left enough time between tables to not have too much congestion.
I loved this idea and wanted to take it 1 step further and potentially include that photo as part of a thank you so it gives us a chance to take a photo with everyone, and puts kind of a new spin on the old school receiving line so we could greet everyone initially. We'd still of course work the room, but thought it might be a clean way to get some desired shots, keepnthenline moving, etc.
We're also planning to assign tables, not seats necessarily, so most photos with the tables will have people they already knew in them.
Thoughts?
