Thoughts on table numbers

Jennifer, on February 26, 2018 at 9:39 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9
So I'm bored laying here wide awake while my FH is already passed out sleeping. I've been fidgeting with different table numbers and this is what I came up with. I'm not 100% sold on the colors but, I want something that's not over the top bold. The word table and the outline of the numbers will be black pen while the frame and inside of the numbers will be gray. Do the colors seem ? I'm also not sure what size to make them. The table number holders I have are little metal hearts about an inch tall so the table numbers aren't to high up off the table. I'm very open to suggestions.

Very pretty! I do have a couple of questions though. How big is your venue and how many tables do you have? I would think they should be about the size of your palm or a little bigger if you have small hands.

Also are you planning on cutting them out and pasting them back to back? If so -make your design symmetrical, unless you don't care of it doesn't line up perfectly.

We're doing an outdoor wedding. If everyone shows up we'll have 12 tables total. I'll be cutting them out and gluing them together. The way they'll be glued together they'll be lined up perfectly.

I initially wanted to have table numbers, but my FH didn't like the idea. So now we are just doing name cards and putting out our immediate family, to reserve those specific tables. It makes it a lot easier than a seating chart!

Those look so nice. I'd say probably about 5 inches tall by 3 wide, no more then 6 inches tall by 4 wide.

How may people are you expecting? It might be easier for you but its very rude to your guests to make them scramble to find a seat. You don't have to assign every seat but at least do a seating chart with table numbers to tell people what table to go to or it'll be chaos.

We are expecting at least 200 people. I have been to a wedding that we picked our own seats and it wasn't terrible.

That's a lot of people to be scrambling for a seat. I only have about 90 people coming and I have some tables with 6 a bunch with 8 and even 1 with 10 so people who know each other can sit together. Are you really going to make family and friends fight to figure out who gets to sit at a table because there's only 8 seats per table but 10 want to sit together? Then the 2 people who can't sit there possibly end up sitting with people they don't know and have nothing in common with? Sounds like a big awful game of musical chairs

I'm doing a seating chart. I've been to to many weddings where I knew almost no one and it was very awkward trying to find somewhere to sit. I opted for table numbers as it'll be easier than making rough 160 place cards. We're trying to avoid decorations that will end up thrown out at the end of the night.

I've been to several wedding's without seating charts. Each wedding that didn't have a seating chart was difficult. Overall I was out of town, didn't know anyone there, and REALLY wanted to be placed with someone rather than me having to choose which random family I'd become friends with that night. Please do seating charts, they really help out of towners.
