Thoughts on photobooths?

They don't really scream "black tie" to me, but they are fun and have always been enjoyed at the weddings I've been to that have had them.

We didn't have a black tie wedding, but it was pretty formal (semi-formal but more formal probably). Our photo booth was used, it was fun! I'll post pictures below. We had about 100 pictures at the end of the night of everyone!

It's certainly not a necessary expense but we have one for our wedding because I personally love photobooths. I've never actually attended a black tie wedding but I'm guessing having a photobooth would be fine.

I think it's a great addition to the reception! I think we're going to start ours during the cocktail hour to keep people entertained during that time.

I wish I was able to afford one. A friend of mine had one at her wedding, and it was fun. But a photo booth doesn't really go with a black tie event, IMO.

I also had one and it was well used. People really enjoy it.

I'm not sure it's black tie but they're fun! If you have room in your budget, I think guests love it too.

We arent having one as of right now. But I think they can be fun and even at a blank tie event it might loosen people up !

I'm not sure they go with a black tie theme, but I think it's funny. My friend did a DIY photobooths where they had the props and you used your cellphone

I have been to several formal events that also had a photo booth, just not a wedding, and nothing black tie. I think your guests may enjoy it if you get the right set-up.

We had a black tie wedding and also had a photo booth. Our guests loved it. People above are confusing black tie as being stuffy.

I think they're really fun! I don't know if it would really fit well in a black tie setting though.

If you can afford it, go for the photo booth! They can be tons of fun

They are an unnecessary expense, but that doesn’t mean they’re not a great addition to the reception! If you’re looking to cut costs, I’d do it here, if you’re looking for more entertainment they are definitely fun.

We are having one and using it as our guest book. So to us, it is not a wasted expense. I also know my guests will really enjoy themselves & take full advantage of it. And any wedding I’ve ever been to, guests always really seem to have a lot of fun with them.

I always enjoy photo booths so we are having one! It will serve as our favor as well. To me, it's a good form of entertainment for everybody.

I think earias said it right, people are confusing black tie with being stuffy If it is in your budget and want it, do it. I think they are fun
