I feel like I've been posting a lot lately so I'm sorry in advance for another.

I need opinions on what bar to do. We have approx. 100 guests attending our wedding and some of our guests don't drink at all, and some drink A LOT.

For a four hour reception it will be $35pp for an open bar for basic club beer, wine, and liquor.

And for a consumption bar it's the following:

Club wine by the glass: 7

Club champagne by the glass: 8

Premium brand liquor: 10

Club brand Liquor: 8

Domestic beer: 5

Imported beer: 6

Bottled water: 2

Soft drinks: 2.5

I would say about half of our guests will have maybe 1-2 drinks and then rest could be 2 per hour if not more. I can't decide which option would help save the most money.

I appreciate any advice Smiley smile

I personally will run you from $50-$100. Depending on how many times I put my drink down etc. I am def good for a solid $50.

I personally hate consumption bars for this reason, I can't leave anything to chance!

In my area the going rate for rail liquor is about $70pp - Washington DC. So I was shocked to see the price so low!

I think the open bar is open as well. & I complained about our $28/pp 😩 I’m seeing now that maybe I should be a little more thankful.

We are kind of in the same situation as you in the sense of some of our guests barely drink and the others like to get down and throw back a few. We worked out that with the consumption bar, we would maybe spend a tiny bit less than open bar but we didn't want to spend the night worrying about how much people were drinking and if we would go over budget, so went with open bar.
